extracting mpeg from dvd

    Is there (anywhere)a cool piece of software that extracts original mpg2 stream (original video and audio formats)from dvd/vob in a single quick step???

    I tried, but with decrypter you get .vob again instead of valid mpg2 with regular video frames (and with original audio incorporated) that can be, for example, inputed in virtualdub or similar processing program !!!

    Any suggestions or comments would be appretiated!!

    VOB files can be read as normal MPEG-2 video/audio by just changing the extension. They have extra information, but media players ignore that. The extra information is completely outside the scope of MPEG, but the video and audio is MPEG compliant.

    If you're trying to open it with VirtualDub, that's your problem. You need to get either VirtualDub MPEG2 or VirtualDubMod. The only type of MPEG files the original VirtualDub will open is MPEG-1.
