    another possibility is to clean out your system restore folder just in case bug is in there

    right click my computer, properties, system restore & check mark turn off system restore

    I was referring to checking your Hijackthis log

    It could be something you have installed that is doing this.

    Have you tried booting into safemode and seeing if you can rename without that error ?
