    Hell ye a divx stand-alone would encourage piracy but, who cares???? lol they've too much money as it is!!

    well, anyone with $25 or so can go buy a used dreamcast, download its divx player, and have divx on their tvs, unfortunately it only works well with movies encoded at 400 kbps or below, but even at that bitrate its better than vcd.

    Ye i guess you could just do that but the whole thing of still having to re-encode downloaded movies isnt great!
