Hello, Please can someone help me...I am an idiot! I have only just recently downloaded and began using DVDFab Platinum and have been loving it. The problem is I have copied a few DVDs and then thought that I deleted all the video files from the hard drive. I would go into the full disc folder and delete the files out of the Video_TS folder and then delete them from my trash bin. Well, apparently there must be left over files somewhere becasue my hard drive space is practically all used up and I am sure it is from these movie files. Previously I was using DVD Decryptor along with DVD Shrink and the extra files were always placed in a folder and after burning the disc I would delete them manually along with the original video files. I have no idea where the extra files are hiding or how to get rid of them. I am freaking out becasue my once almost empty hard drive is now near full capicity and I have no idea what to do or where to look for these extra files to delete them. Can someone please help me! Thanks! Medea witchmedea@cavtel.net
I notice you said you emptied your trash bin. If you happen to be running Norton there are two trash bins. One of them is Norton protected files. When I was first doing backups I ran into the same problem you have. If you open the unerase wizard you will see all those files sitting in there. So you empty the Norton protected bin and they all go away. Hope this helps.
Greetings Shardel, Thank you for responding. yes, I am running Norton but I tried to look through and find the trash bin but I have no idea where it is. Can you please tell me how to access it or how to open the unerase wizard? Sorry if this sounds silly but I really tried to search through the program and had no luck finding the protected files. Thank you again. Rose
On your desk top there should be an icon that looks like a waste basket. Underneath it will say Norton Protecti.... Right click on that and you will see Empty Norton Protected Files and Empty Recyle Bin. The Unerase Wizard is in that group also. The simplest way to get rid of these files is to click on Empty Norton Protected Files. You also can empty them individually in the Unerase Wizard by right clicking on the individual movie name and then clicking delete. I would only suggest going that route if there is something in the protected files that you might want to recover later. When you click on Empty Norton Protected Files a box will come up telling you how many files are in that folder. It gives you the option of Purge Yours, Purge All, and Cancel. I usually just purge all. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
