it's a internal burner. i even took it down stairs and put in my other computer and i get the same message
Have you followed the instructions about placing the drive on IDE lead? as a slave drive and nothing else connected to it?... can't remember exactly the procedure at the moment, but it's there in a text file what you have to do...
