My Pc's IDE channels settings were DMA until today when I upgraded the firmware on my Samsung TS_H552b. When I installed the new update I had to restart my computer. I then had new hardware found, new drivers installed come up. I then checked my IDE controller and it had been set back to PIO mode. What I want to know is:
If I uninstall the IDE channel so that I can change back to DMA mode will this remove my firmware upgrade? I hope this makes sense....Is there a way I can check what version of my firmware upgrade I have???

Yes you can uninstall the IDE channel and reboot to hopefully change back to DMA mode. This will not remove your firmware upgrade.

Thanks for that ands all is well...I found a tool that tells you what version you have "Flashman's detect firmware version tool". Download this at http://flashman.rpc1.org/ it works a treat! I hope this posting will help inform others.....
