OK, I will use movie only for movies and then full disc for episode discs. I am assuming since you suggest movie only that keeping extras will decrease the video quality more than it is worth to keep the extras.

I am planning to burn at 8X with my Verbatim media.

    Thanks guys, you are great!

OK, so far ripped Little Miss Sunshine in 4 1/2 minutes (movie only). Entire disc would have been 99% and movie only 100% but I will just do movie only I guess.

Now with DVD RB, I pointed to target but now I have a question about the audio streams. How do I know which one to keep?

    Audio 1 6 ch, AC3 English
    Audio 3 2 ch, AC3 English
    Audio 4 2 ch, AC3 English

Also, since in my settings I noted no other languages or subtitles, I was surprised to see Spanish in lang (audio 2) and also subtitles are checked.

Hmm, I just put in Southpark DVD and am ripping as a full disc, and DVDfab says it is 69%. Do I disregard that percent because DVD RB "fixes" this?

    pick the 6 channel audio

you won't need DVD Rebuilder for every movie

if you rip the movie with dvdfab and it at 4.7 gig or below your good to go with dvd shrink.

you will ONLY need DVD Rebuilder on high compressed files. if dvdfab decrypter says the compression is 70% to 65% or worse then use DVD Rebuilder

Is the only con of using DVD RB the time needed to complete the process? If so, I will just take more time than risk Shrink messing up more DVDs. However, if a DVD is 100% after ripping with DVDFab, can I just burn with IMGBurn right away or do I still need DVD RB first?

Hmmmm, I think I am doing this wrong. After ripping with DVDFab, the movie files are compressed down to 4.18 gb already. Shouldnt they be the original size until I use DVD RB?

are you using dvdfab derypter or dvdfab gold/platinum ?

if using dvdfab platinum make sure you have it set to rip in dvd-9 mode

So if I can get 100% at DVD-5 then do that and then burn with imgburn right away, otherwise rip as DVD-9 and then use DVD RB?

you want to use dvd-9 mode, if your at 100% you don't need to transcode/shrink the file.

with dvd-5 mode its shrinking the file down to 100% or 4.7 gig

you want it uncompressed (using dvd-9 mode)so you actually know where your at as far as the size of the file

OK, that makes sense. I will always use DVD-9 option. Too bad it switches bad to DVD-5 each time as I might forget to change it sometimes if I am in a hurry.

Alright, back to the DVD project now. :)

I am just ripping a bunch of DVDs before getting to the DVD RB stage of this project. One concern I have with DVDFab is there are quite a few DVDs the program does not detect, or sometimes I need to try them over and over until it finally detects them. Usually my drive does detect them though. Might this be an issue with Vista? I am a new Vista user.

I am not sure if I understand your question. I am using a Dell laptop.

I installed PowerDVD as I got sick of windows media player starting up for the DVDs. Then I rebooted. Now DVDs are detected much better. I just had a few that it took a long time for DVDFab to sort out but I got that part all squared away. I am batching up about 20 DVDs and then tomorrow I will try burning them and maybe test a few out.

It appears that 1 or 2 movies in my batch have multiple angles. I am guessing this might cause an issue since I saved only one video stream per video. I wish I was paying closer attention so I knew exactly which ones there are. I am guessing then I can just add the 2nd video stream and be just fine.

you don't need both angles ripped, just one is fine
