    Hi,

I got the rs232 cable and have the rest,
But i couldn't locate one or two or the programs needed

The software on the box is 4.50 api version

    I have the :
    GTRom v41.00.zip
    Starview_Guide.pdf

But could only find the CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin

As my box is not a clone

    Any tips appreciated

    Thanks later

    Ok,
I have everything, only prob is, i installed software
from the logilink cd that comes with the rs232 connection
    serial adapter

When the install was complete, it said to plug in to the port
So i did and got error blue screen, and system restarted.

The i went to the device manager and checked the port comm
It seems to me installed, but a warning mesage on vista
tells me some hardware or software might have failed and blaaa!!!!

So i'll continue and see what happens.

    I plugged the usb,
to the port that doesn't give me a blue screen and crash

    Open GTRom v41.00
And select bin file : box_Ireland_H20070705_450eE_api
Selected port3, the only one that seems to work,
Click download, the download window opens, waits, nothing.

Dont think you have the right cable, the RS232 wont work. You need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

The null cable came with the box
We got the rs232 because the null won't connect to the laptop
So plug in the null to the box, plug in the rs cable to that
And plug the 2 ended usb cable to th2 other end of the rs232

Hmm.. even tryed turning off the box and started the gtrom
Then turning on the box after clicking download in the gtrom

The lite on the front of the box stays at the end one green line.

Also tryed turning off the box and laptop then turn them both on
    with the cables connected, nothing.

Have you read the guide here and pay particular attention to your Comm Port settings.
