flash update fail

    hi all
    i know there has been alot of answers to flash update fail and i have follewed them all including re-installing the firmware.
    its a starview 1 box and i have checked the port is correct but as soon as i start to download it stays at 0% and then comes up saying flash update failed.

    going to go and bang my head off of a wall if i cant get this sorted.

    all help will ge gratefuly appreciated

    Have you got the correct cables ... not the ones that came with the box... these ones:

    the cable is correct........i went and got it in a pc shop and had to get a driver online for it as i could'nt find the disc

    thats the link i got the fw from..........followed it step by step(well until it told me that flash update failed).

    I'm just wondering is the box dead as when i was in the menu parental control and channel edit are blocked from me getting into it and also when i go to do a channel scan it just comes up saying 0 program found. I'm new to this so i dont know if thats the problem.
