I replaced it with a used one for just $36 from this PC recycling biz, so far I can only see 2 screws that wont be enough to open it up?
dawn3r, have you ever fixed a monitor because i have? the monitor i'm using right now i fixed by replacing 2 capacitors. 1/2 hr of my time & 2 salvaged capacitors off a defunct power supply is what it cost me which is nil. Wyattspoppa, if you can't do capacitors then you can't do electronic soldering. as your monitor uses a regular power cord means there is 2 circuit boards in the monitor, a power board & a video controller. i think the power board is causing the problem most likely by a domed capacitor. check on youtube to see if there is a video about how to disassemble your monitor.
Thanks, yeah capacitors is beyond my skillset...I just didnt want to chuck a monitor not 2 years old without trying..
