Flashing PC Monitor

    I replaced it with a used one for just $36 from this PC recycling biz, so far I can only see 2 screws that wont be enough to open it up?

    Repairing old monitors is not worth it as you can find used 24" one for dirt cheap

    dawn3r, have you ever fixed a monitor because i have? the monitor i'm using right now i fixed by replacing 2 capacitors. 1/2 hr of my time & 2 salvaged capacitors off a defunct power supply is what it cost me which is nil.

    Wyattspoppa, if you can't do capacitors then you can't do electronic soldering. as your monitor uses a regular power cord means there is 2 circuit boards in the monitor, a power board & a video controller. i think the power board is causing the problem most likely by a domed capacitor. check on youtube to see if there is a video about how to disassemble your monitor.

    Thanks, yeah capacitors is beyond my skillset...I just didnt want to chuck a monitor not 2 years old without trying..

    if you can replace thru hole components like resistors then you can do same for a capacitor.
