He was not 'repeatedly' criticized for one error, I asked 'what about the Starview 6 ? ' and was replied to in quite snotty terms with more errors and misinformation.

He could have quite easily read a few of the threads about the starview 6, before replying to my question but he obviously decided not to and continue with his misinformation/error.

I will be editing all my posts on this thread, so the repeated criticism will be removed.

to be impartial on this, you shouldnt edit your posts unless the person who made the initial post, acknowlege's their mistake as it makes the person, in this case SG8, looks like they are just having a pop for no reason, which isnt the case, if I post something and it may be correct to my best knowledge and if some one corrects me on it, great, no worries, I just learned something new today, I will change my post with a disclaimer in it to point out where I was corrected and by who, you dont just edit each time as this just looks like your covering your error. Just my ten cents on it

Don't you dare edit or apologise for any posts SG8.
What if some novice in EIRE buys a STVU 5 today, because Canon says it works here.
Stavu 5 hasn't worked on cable since SEPT/OCT 2009, & never worked on sat.
I have often read Canon's posts here & found them very informative indeed
Now I wonder if he posts such crap about cable boxes, how accurate are his previous
    posts.
Pio.,you were very naieve when you came on here first, but you have come on in leaps
& bounds since. Your working knowledge of linux has prospered because you asked people
like Fint for tips & were sharp enough to take to linux like a duck to water. You don't
need to plaumass Canon or anyone else on here. You have helped a lot of people here.
So let Canon stand up for himself, & if he's anyway humble Mickah won't be too harsh on
    him.

On the money Eamo, if ya make a mistake on something, put yer hand up or take someones correction as constructive and take it on the chin, there is no shame in that, thats how we all have learned along the way and passed the same knowledge on, isnt that how things work in general,

But dont change yer opening post each time someone calls you on it, as it makes you look worse and on first reading, makes the other person look like your attacking them for no real reason. as someone coming to the thread wouldnt know what was edited.

I Agreed with SG8 on what he said to me on the above lines, that it a plug & go, because he has it up & running, ,so he should know on that,so here is my problem is when i ask about the SV6 i am told it not a plug & go like the other& the way this box worked, so i am getting misleading information and i say to them are u sure on that because other lads have them up & running.& it make me look bad on this thread & i could not blame
MICKAH/Mooley & the rest of the lads for saying so.as i have said before is that i am not well up on these cable boxes only on small thing that might pop up now & again.
I will remove that thread discussion with that load of chap as u say .Sorry lads i am getting wrong info.thanks lads.

It is not the same as before as it works on a completely different system. The previous boxes before now all worked via Emulator. This one does not (entirely). It is all explained in the thread link I posted previously on this thread, it is explained fully.

No worries. We're all learning every day of our lives.

Personally I don't comment on these boxes because I neither have one nor have I been in the presence of one.

Thr story is, that this lad called magic is moving from Technomate to spiderbox . So he will now be releasing patches for the spiderbox from now on. Some people are saying , he never made the patches for technomate in the first place, he was ony the front for the real developers.Belive who you want really

i dont think led tv is the way to go, there contrast levels are awful and the sound quality on samsung tv's is just terrible, panasonic viera's are far better especially the new sets that are coming out, just my 2 cents......
