The subject says it all. I have gotten a bad batch of 2.4x +R media. is it possible to force a 1x write speed. The writer is a NEC 1100A.

    Thanks

Given that the burner is in fine shape, you may want to return the media if it's bad. By asking if you can force a 1X burn are you saying it won't burn at all? What brand media is it?

I once had a similar problem.
    Try upgrading your firmware.

I have the exact same problem were your bad batch of discs unbranded or a cheap spindle? i bought a cheap spindle (generic brand) and they would not record in dvd x copy they were dvd- media and my burner is a verbatim +/- so there was no compatability issue just that they were cheap discs for all i know they could have been cd-r they were unbranded.
