God I am so tired of PHP sites protecting their content to death you either download it normally thru whatever they let you and the download is sure to fail or you try and use a download manager that either docent work or cant resume.

Currently I am trying to download a HD movie off Gamespot (Bioshock trailer 1) and what do you know I have downloaded 50MB twice so far because the damn thing dose not resume....has anyone made a simple program that will simpley just resume's the data flow?

Or is resuming solely dependent on the sever still....

    AHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is so annoying..........

    Got this from Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Php)
So basically it's a scripting (programming?)language, but for web pages. Like the search.php page on many sites I guess.

PHP is a new coding setup for web pages and they can do nearly anything until someone makes a download managers thats smart and able to deal with PHP time outs and shit the net is a evil place for non fast net users...

PHP is evil they give you a link then it times out and becomes bad after 30sec-1min you are not disconnected from the file download and the download data is still ok but any disconnection from it and BOOM link bad gone nothing you can do.......

bandwidth saving PHP sites(,meaning some PHP sites let you resume and don't have timeouts on links)

IGN/file front/file panet they annoy you so much with crap its always easier to pay 6 a month for easy downloading

    gamespot is as bad tho...

try and find a 100B game movie preview and see if it can resume or if the link you got works after 5 min.

Oh, so that's what it is. I remember seeing such links before.
    They are like
    www1.sitename.com/download.php?c52359nt27tng34ng47hjl
    Correct?

EDIT: I think PHP looks for the site referrer

something like that, some have sneaky code setup to hand out temp links to a file and you cant resume or anything with the link you are given just have to go back to the site and try again.
Some of what I have ran into are not PHP but still its al the same no resume changing links blah crap....

I woudl think some of it is just save the webpage and check the code but I was never any good at codeing

    look at this

badly coded (dosent work with firefox)
    http://www.blasteroids.com/games/file_details.cfm/6340/bioshock

first 2 http links to the movies don,t support resumeing but the FTP dose :3
    http://www.beyondunreal.com/content/articles/163_1.php

Gamespot has stable links but I got temp baned for reconnection to the site 3 times because the download failed at 30-50% it had to start over 0-o
    http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/bioshock/media.html?sid=6158897&autoplay=6158897

I cant find that one page that had a temp link system that times out

The login system of this site looks fairly similar to afterdawn, even the graphics.
I thought afterdawn had their own unique bulletin software.
