I have a HP Pavillion a1640n computer that has rescue disks for it. I want to format my harddrive and I wanted to know if anyone can tell me how to do this. Also, if my rescue disks will reload my windows after I format it. Thanks for all your help Annie
I have done that 5 or 6 times, but it just reloads the windows on and i really need to format the harddrive and get rid of a lot of junk on there. I want a clean new computer again, but first, I'm not sure how to format, and second, I don't know if rescue disks, will reload windows after I format. I have never had rescue disks before. Thank you Annie
when it reloaded windows, was your old stuff still there? did it give you an option near the beginning to format the hd?
yes, my old stuff was still there. Well, it says it's formating but it doesn't. Everything is still there when windows loads. All of my same stuff I have downloaded etc. thank you Annie
change the bootdrive to your rom drive from your hd in the bios. read this link. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...duct=3245028&rule=30720&lang=en#bph07145_disc
