First I backup a movie using DVD Shrink along with the latest trial version of AnyDVD. Then I burn the Backup to a disc using Nero Burning Rom. Their are no freezes when burning the disc, but when I watch a movie the last 10 minutes of the movie it always freezes. I am using a IO Magic Burner and HP invent DVD+R (Purple) Disc's. Anyone know what the problem is?

HP media is likely CMC MAG. No good at all. Get some Sony, Verbatim, Fuji (Make sure it's Made In Japan) or my favorite, Taiyo Yuden.

Freezes are probably because you are burning too close to the outside edge of the disk. In Shrink, go to Edit->Preferences and at Target DVD size, set it to custom and use about 4350MB

    Good Luck!

Thanks, Will try to pick up a different brand of discs later today. My target size is already set at 4350mb. Should I make it less?

4350 is close enough, but I wouldn't go any higher. Also keep an eye on your compression levels, if you are using a high amount of compression you may need to use DVD shrink's AEC and Deep Analysis features.

All I day is back up the movie without the subtitles, main menu's and bonus features.

That's also what I do. Some titles still require compression, though. As LOCOENG said, when you go to backup, go to the Quality Settings tab and check both boxes. That may also help with the freezing.

How do you access the DVD shrink's AEC and Deep Analysis features?

When you click the Back Up button in Shrink, go to the Quality Settings tab and check both boxes. I usually leave the Adaptive Error Correction setting at sharp, but you can change it to whatever you like. Using these settings will increase the time it takes to do the analysis.

The problem was the HP discs. They were causing my movies to freeze at the end. Now that i have bought a pack of Memorex DVD+R disc's everything works fine. Thanks guys for your suggestions

Must've gotten lucky with the Memorex's and got a spindle of Ritek's, they are usually just as bad as the HP's.
