I have recently found that the desktop freezes when I open windows' folders to view files, photo's etc.

    I get the following error:

    C:\windwows\System32\dumprep.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal operation
    CS: 071c IP: 01a6 OP:64 63 8f 67 66 Choose "Close" to terminate the application.

Any ideas? I have either to reboot or sometimes, if I ALT CTRL TAB I can close the open folders down and afetr a short wait, can carry on as normal.

    Thanks in advance.
