Well the good news is that I was able to get rid of the worm on my computer that casused my CPU usage to skyrocket. The bad news - I tried burning with Nero (just a 20 minute video) after I had re-captured with no more CPU issues - and sad to say the freezing problem still ocurred. Of course, it worked perfectly on my computer, but not so on my standalone DVD player. I didn't change my media yet, still using the TY DVD-R discs, so maybe that is the problem. If not, I feel as though I am close to giving up. Please advise Afterdawn...
get new discs from SOMEWHERE ELSE! good brand id codes i think you will be surprised, but glad you got that worm out! nice one.
Thanks Rotary, I will do so. Sorry for the "down" tone of my last post, but I'm sure you know how frustrating this can get. The good news is that I think I now may have found the real problem (though not specifically yet) with my DVD burning. I noticed that the freezing problem that I've have doesn't happen in the early part of my finished DVD, but rather, only after about oh, 7-8 minutes of playing time on the standalone DVD player. This was the case with all my DVDs that I was burning. I did notice something last time(ok, I should have noticed this all along but bear in mind I'm a "newbie") - during the burning process I noticed that my Lite-On burner light after a while would turn red. I didn't think anything of this because I simply thought that this was part of the process (again, I'm a newbie). I'm thinking now that this should have been a "red flag" for me earlier on and I probably should have done something to address it. What is this an indication of, Rotary? Thanks!
Rotary, As an update, I just read some other posts that suggests that my "red light" theory is probably not the problem and that the red light is actually normal during the burning process. I'll try different media and see what happens.
hi not sure on the red light maybe its locked the drive for burning? but could mean anything? will keep an eye out for this info! could be buffer underun? red usually means DANGER? but dont let me spook ya... if they burn then thats a very good sign indeed!
Good news Rotary - Success!!! The change to DVD+R has worked like a charm! No more freezes. I switched to a brand called ABCRON and used their "MyPlayo" DVD+R discs and it worked fine. I did have one final question - I did what you said about changing the booktype in DVD Decrypter and it give me a "success" after doing so, but then I could not use that program to go to my Nero burning program. Do I need to do that? I made the change and then opened up the Nero program separately - does this make sense? or is this not changing the booktype when I use my Nero burning softeware? I want to thank you and Afterdawn for all of your help. Anyone that wants to learn alot about DVD creation should just read this thread!! Thanks again!!!
hi you lost me abit? you dont need nero you need to use dvd decrypter to burn only/booktype you need the file is ISO format though for DvdD
Yes, that is what I was asking - once I set the booktype and make the change to DVD-ROM I can then simply open up any burn program and it will treat it as though it was burning to DVD-Rom, correct?
