Most times when I try to burn from Nero the process freezes and nothing happens, the progress bar doesn't move and the video preview stops. Effectively it seems to crash. Anybody know what is wrong and why? Thanks
If you run the Nero Tool to get your system information, check the firmware version of the drive to see if it's the latest. Then check the 'configuration' to verify that 'dma' is turned on for the burner. Last make sure you are using quality (made in Japan)media or 'Verbatim' and burn at 4x..
I have tried these steps. Its usually during the encoding process but has occured later. I always burn to my hard drive.
Are you using Nero to convert AVI to DVD? Try this instead. http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB) Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD. Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv) Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America) Use Nero burning ROM to burn the files to DVD. Alternatively, burn with freeware, DVD Shrink + DVD Decrypter.
Ah I see now, thanks again. When using Nero to burn my DVD files, the files I need are the BUP, IFO and VOB of each encoded video right? Or do I just need the VBO?
If you wish to use the entire folder that was output, use Nero Burning Rom. Run 'Nero StartSmart' > 'Nero Burning ROM' > select 'DVD' from top left drop down menu. Select 'DVD Video' > 'New' . The left panel shows a 'Video' folder in red. Browse to the folder containing your video files, select all of the files in the 'Video_TS' folder and drag them into the red folder on the left panel. Your files will include VOB,IFO and BUP types. Click the 'Burn' icon and select a burning speed of 4x.Click 'Burn'. alternatively... If you wish to create a menu, use Nero Vision 4 (Nero 6, Nero Vision Express) Make DVD > DVD Video > Add Video Files, then select the VOB file.
