friends PC acting weird....please help

    he says that his pc will not get past the start up window......it gets to the screen that displays the windows logo and stalls....any ideas.....thanx in advance

    I rebuilt my PC with a asus A7V8X-X and a AMD2800XP and had the same problem, flashing the Bios fixed it.

    One of the things I would check it the Hard Drive. Most manufacturers have diagnostics that you can download via their website. Obviously you will have to do this on another computer. The diags should fit on a floppy. Hope it all works out.
