    Hi,
I have a laptop with an LAN port(NIC) and a modded xbox with xecuter 2.2 pro. Do I need to have a high speed internet connection to connect or ftp into the xbox? What setup do you suggest?

Thank you for all the help, much appreciated and a special thanks to daseamonkey for posting all the crucial info.

you don't need high speed internet to FTP the xbox (I'm lucky if I get a 19.2 Kbps connection (rural)) as long as you have an NIC.

I found getting the setup config. for FTP to the Xbox to be the most difficult....finally figured it out with alot of reading and asking a couple questions

    Hi Newton.

I am also trying to FTP to my XBOX via the NIC port on my Laptop.

I am having some problems so any help is appreciated.

Honestly, the best way to do this is using a router/switch with DHCP, that way you get all your ip addresses assigned automatically. Although, if you have to, you could setup a static connection to your xbox using a crossover cable (a flipped straight-through), and changing your computer's ip protocol setting under the network control panel as you needed to, with whichever address you needed to give it. I would strongly reccommend connecting through a linksys router/switch, because then it's essentially plug-'n-play, but if you have to do it statically, good luck.
