    What's your Xbox IP Address?

Which cable type are you using and which Setup do you use (look on the first page)

Im using 192.168.88.2 for my xbox which is the same +1 as my pc IP addy.

Cable is a standard ethernet cable and the setup is my PC into the back of a packet 8 broadband phone thingy via ethernet cable and another ethernet cable poking out of that into the back of my xbox.

    Im guessing ...hub?

I dont think what Im doing is listed on the front page. Im not sure. I could take pictures and post links.

So you are running something like this...

Make the gateway whatever the modems IP Address is.

I think so. Now im getting some very weird message as well. Any time I go to the local network connections thing and try to set a static IP equal to the number my computer gave me it says that the static IP i have chosen is already in use at this time and that I need to enter a new one. Strange thing is I used this number the first day I started and it never said that.
Also by allowing it to auto detect IP it says connecting to xbox, connected, connection lost.
By attempting to get static IP to work now is simply says connection failure or connection refused.

    192.168.88.1 is the pc.
Its still losing the connection with the new xbox ip of 192.168.88.6 using the IP auto detection. Using the static IP still prompts the IP entered is in use message when I use the 88.1 number

Heres a pic of what im seeing in flash fxp. Im now using evolution x

WOAH. WTF...I unplugged my xbox just now to get back online to post the edit with that screenshot and its STILL saying connecting to MyXbox and then CONNECTED.
How can it connect to something its NOT hooked up to?
    Something wrong here...

    I'm confused!

Firstly, I have no idea why you are using .88.x!?

The issue will be totally related to the switch that is connecting it all!

Why are you unplugging you internet?

How many ports are on your modem? What model is it?

Do you have multiple ports like this one?

What address do you type to communicate with the modem?

Okay here are pictures of my setup.

Im using an old broadband box thingy. And packet 8 voiceover IP broadband phone box.

Heres how Ive set it up for xbox.

That gray line connects the modem to the voiceover IP. The blue line from the voiceover IP connects to my pc.

I have been disconnecting that grey line from the blue box and plugging it into my xbox.

    ie
xbox to voiceover ip voiceover ip to pc

Your network is pretty messy, not to mention old...

What may be a better idea is to:

    a) Go buy a cheap switch and plug everything into that.

    b) Get a crossover cable and connect directly from the PC to the Xbox!

    YES! and no.
Okay crossover cable is hooked and is a go.
I have ftp working now after several random fails and it STAYS connected.

I only seem able to transfer files to E drive but now a new problem.
I put them in a folder on my E drive and I cant find ANYTHING on evolution x's dashboard saying that there are folders on it now.

Do I simply transfer the emulator straight ot E without putting it in a folder?

EDIT: Okay scratch the stays connected part.
I unplugged it to go type that last post then went back and plugged up the xbox crossover into my PC ethernet port again. CHANGED NOTHING.
Says connection FAILED now everytime. What the hell?

Just not your week is it!?

Obviously check the basics, make sure your 'ipconfig /all' is showing the correct IP address and it's in the same network as the Xbox.

    Okay so here's my error:
I'm running XBMC on my Xbox, I'm connecting to the pc via a hub. All cables are working and so's the hub. I followed all your steps for XBMX and the IP settings and it still won't connect. I'll chuck up some screenshots but as far as I can see I've done everything correct.

My Xbox network settings are as follows:
    IP = 10.1.1.5
    Net - 255.0.0.0
    Gate - 10.1.1.1
    DNS - 10.1.1.1

I'm unable to change my FTP username but default is xbox and pw is xbox.

    SMB is xbox & xbox.

If you need anymore info let me know, cheers.

Your network settings seem ok, what sort of hub have you got? Are you sure it's not a switch?

I can't see the hub causing any issues as it's a passive device, however you never know!

You could try a direct PC > XBOX connection with a crossover cable to confirm that all your settings are correct!?

Well at least we know the hub isn't causing the issue!

What FTP program are you using? Have you got solid link lights?

I'm assuming you have followed the guide on Page 1...

I've tried Smart FTP and FLashfXP, neither work. Repeated everything from page one twice, everythings sorted.
