ok I understand that, and after finding out the hard way of actually trying pso+ I had gone out and spend almost $65.00 on a ORIGINAL VERSION of PSO (hehe now I have two pso's) even with the mod chip come out, I just want to be able to say I did the pso trick. [bold]if some one can please help me I would really appreciate it[/bold] for some reason after making the .gcm files and trying to upload to the GC, I get the boot loader and then I click start, it starts to load then crash's (just a black screen). I made gcm files of my Super Mario sunshine and Soul Calibur 2 and Sonic DX and all the same thing happend. I heard that some games dont work with this method. Here is a listing of all the games I have so far:
    dead to rights
    star wars rogue leader
    metriod prime
    super mario sunshine
    soul calibur 2
madden 2002 (hehe on sale at toys r us for 4.99)
    spyhunter
    Eternal Darkness sanity's requiem
along with the two versions of Phantasy Star Online 1&2 (original and plus)
and one more, I am not sure what it is or where its at (maybe someplace in my kids room)
If there are any known problems with using the pso hack with any of these games can some one please let me know

or maybe it may be my NIC its a realtech 10/100

Here ya go bud, there's an online list of what should work and if it's not in there I presume it won;t.

    http://list.gc-compat.com/

I've also been trying streaming myself and have found some games that won't stream (Bomberman Land 2 for example) and it's not on the list, so presume it doesn't work. I've had some success with other games like Mario Party 4 as that works well, just very slow animation!

    Hope this helps.

Sounds like you only problem is the network card speed on your computer. on some of the loaders you need to force the speed down to 10 meg/half duplex. the newer loaders can get around this but you need to have a hub not a direct crossover cable. so I would start with that.

no that card will be fine, i used to do this on that exact same card. are you using a crossover cable or a hub?

Just a quick point on this subject; I'm using a router, and the light changes from orange to green (100 to 10mb), is this suitable or do I need to change my NIC to 10mb as well or leave it as 100mb default?

    Thanx!

id say scrap the router and get a cat5e cable thats what ive got... is the router set to auto-negotiate connections?

I had alot of trouble doing the router approce so I just used a hub instead. I would try that. another problem is on the routers some loaders with switch the speed after you get the game started to load. and the router responds kind of slow so it does like a quick drop and connection in the loader. but on a little hub or small switch its so fast it doesn't have a problem. but on the router is makes it a bit longer so I think thats why you getting that black screen after like a starcube loading. if you are even getting that far.

if you are using a cross over cable windows XP will auto negotiate on it and that wont be the problem. try using cubsoft phoenix, its easier to use than seperate packages..

POS 1&2 plus is very hard to get working unless you know what to do. Most people that get it working really don't even post that they did because you need to understand a bit on how the DNS server works and how to fake your computer. I got mine working but I'm not even going to try to post the steps because I don't think I could really word it that well and it does take alot of networking KB to make it work. Besides at this point I'm doing the viperGC chip I ordered mine last week so I will have it anyday now. I allready d/led a cobra bios so I will flash it as soon as I get it.

Bottom line is that you cannot stream with PSO+/PSOIII US/PAL) version. It is a very safe bet that you will never be able to use those games to stream.

thats fine you can say that because I think less than 5% of the members here could make it work I know I did. but thats only because I really understood what was going on and figured out excatly what I needed to do. and another thing is not like you going to beable to write steps out on how to do this because some nobo will read somthing wrong and cause more problem with his computer and blame anyone that did post how to do it. just do your self a favor Don't try to get POS Plus to work for any reason. If your that determinded to make backups work try getting the mod chip and flashing it and installing it. or better yet get try to make one of them screw drivers to take the GC apart with a pen cap and lighter. And besides Streams the games does really suck anyway. the speed is not that great and some games are quite chopy. and the sound quality sucks.

I hate to call you a fibber Bizquick but Costis (the person that wrote PSOLoad) could not figure out a way to stream with the mentioned game. Actually he said it was impossible.

You can go over to www.gcdev.com for more info

I don't mean to call anyone a liar or anything but I'll bet Costis did make it work after lots of effort. Like I said its not somthing they would post because alot of nobo's would try it and fusk up their computers by not doing somthing right. Its a real pain in the ass to make it work and to be honest its not worth the effort to even do it. If you have good Networking Skills and and understand how DNS servers work you can make it happen. Well I just got my ViperGC chip in about 10 mins ago so I'm going to flash this chip and start installing.
But honestly we need to stop talking about PSO Plus working or not working. It works but very diffcult steps need to be applied. and I was trying to help one user here but I think I need to stop his level is alot less than I expected and I think he will not get there. but if your a good Network Admin and understand DNS servers and IP's we can talk and we can make it work.

I've tried burning a GCM ISO to an 8cm Disc and it won't play in the cube ... or at least without being chipped, although it did play through the pc when I streamed it, so I suppose this is one way of keeping your backups off your hard drive!

    "Viper GC Installation"

"Viper GC Purchase" "Must be sold out right now, cause it's not showing up, but this is the only place known right now that sells them."

And no, I don't have a Viper GC Modchip yet.
