What was it exactly you were trying to do? Stream a game? if that is the case then you need to find a person who is experienced in mac 'affairs' to help you. I would help gladly if I could but I have never used a mac. I know that you can run linux on a mac and that there is an app to stream to PSO which is native to linux. Another possibility would be to emulate windows and run the appropriate app that way, but I don't know if this is possible. Sorry to be so vague but I really have no experience with 'the other side'.

My intentions is both to stream games and to rip games... Got PSO 1&2 and a ViperGC mod chip so everything is possible ;)

Emulating windows using Virtual PC is no good. Have tried it... Don't know the linux apps required both to stream and to rip...

I try both to stream and to rip, and i will gladly install Linux if this can help solve the problem. Just need the appropriate apps to do so...

If any of you guys know where to get this, and with a nice GUI it would be the best

I'm assuming you have a BBA with your PSO 1&2.

All you need to rip is ngcdev ripper 0.2a and a web browser.
    - load the ripper DOL
    - connect a cable between your BBA and your computer NIC
    - type in the http address from the TV screen into your browser
done in under 20 minutes, burn it to a miniDVD and you are done!

You say you have the IP settings correct for thinair?

You have your Mac set to a fixed IP setting of 192.168.1.100 and your GC set to 192.168.1.32?

Are you using a crossover cable, or wired to a hub? I've had best luck with a dumb 10T hub, but recently I have been using a cross-over cable so I can use the 100T streamer built into ThinAir... (Didn't have a spare 10/100 switch around.)

The cross-over cable is a little more finicky because when PSO switches the speed of the BBA back and forth, the Mac isn't always ready.

You are using ThinAir 7.2b, correct?

I've done everything from the Mac without any need to use a PC (Stream, RIP, Burn, etc.)

Reading over all 30 pages, I've found that the info in this forum is quite good. However I've seen about 5 peopel who ask about the whole
"Server DNS query from 192.168.1.100", "Server DNS query from 192.168.1.32" issue and have gone [bold]unanswered[/bold].

I've tried my best to follow every guide I've found with no result past these messages in the [bold]PSUL 1.1[/bold] program, be it loaded from Phoenix v2.3 or from the command line.

I am using a crossover cable and a dedicated NIC. I've set all the numbers as they should be [bold]But[/bold] still I just get ths screen over and over agan.
and the error No.102 in PSO (Cannot connect to the server).

    So I'm just trying to find out what I'm doing wrong, My PC settings seam to be right and the GC's network setting seam to be right. Please I need a lot of help it seams -_-;

Can japanese games be copied and played on action replay and free loader? How can I copy it? I don't want any type of mod chip.

I am interested in getting the PSO exploit up and running however, before I go and buy the Broadband Adapter etc (I don't want the modchip because over here they cost an arm and a leg to get someone to install it)...Anyways, I understand that you rip the game onto your pc from your gc but I was wondering whether it would be possible to acquire gc games from the net and then stream those over to the gc, instead of ripping them to the pc...GC games are still full price here and no one rents them :(

Yes, you can d/l iso/gcm from the net to stream to your gc from a pc. They do not always work. Another alternative to paying alot for a mod chip to be installed is to order a max drive pro from codejunkies.com for around $50 USD and load a bios that way. (the mod chip just allows you to load a bios through a hardware exploit while the max drive facilitates loading a bios through a software exploit).

    ForceX,

Soldering 5 wires is as easy as it gets. The hardest might be the one that connects to the pin of the chip. Making the gamebit always makes me laugh out loud. Hats off to the guy who discovered this method.

As for rentals, I guess you are out of luck. Maybe you could buy used, then sell them back. I have never d/l'ed any GC iso's, and I hear there are many problems with that. In the US, try this for rentals... http://www.video-game-rental.net/index2.html

    crzyfl,

There's hardly any difference in price with the Viper GC. I guess it depends if someone isn't comfortable opening up and soldering their GC. I have to admit, the Mod That Cube Faq is basically a Mod the GC for Dummies. It has all you need.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I do not want to install the modchip myself because I have never soldered anything and I do not want to damage the console. Additionally, I live in Australia and the cheapest I have seen the modchip is $90.00 and if I got someone to install it they would charge shitloads e.g. Xbox mods cost about $150+ here :( (Thats why I softmodded :D)

Anyways, crzyfl are their any tutorials on using the Max Drive Pro (Can you use an action replay instead?) to load the bios? And would I still need the Broadband adapter + PSO 1 & 2?

    ForceX,
The action replay can be used I beleive, but I will not attest to this as I have never physically seen it work. Max drive pro can most definitely be used to boot a bios, I do it every day. You do need a broadband adapter, but not a copy of PSO. I bought the BBA in Australia from DVDCrave.com.au not sure if they still have any though. If you get the max drive I will upload to you the tools you need and help with any queries you have (it took me a month to get any success, I know how frustrating it can be). I have had limited success downloading games over the net, but games I have ripped work not bad. If you need to know if a specific game works ask me and I will test it out.

Thanks crzyfl. I'm also in Australia mate but Dvd Crave only stocks the modem adapter now so I brought one off ebay at a very reasonable price :)

I am gonna purchase the max drive pro from codejunkies website so once I get that I should be set to go.

EDIT:- I just checked the codejunkies website and when I go to order the max drive pro it says that its the usa version...would this still work on my Pal Gamecube?

Ok I just checked the UK website but it would end up costing me something like $90.00+ which is crazy...Does anyone know where I can get the Max Drive Pro at a more reasonable price.

    ForceX,
I am pretty sure that it will work because the same thing happened to me and mine works fine.

    xsamurai,
Have you tried http://www.ngcdev.com ? or maxconsole.net? they are good sources of info and files.

    Cheers

Yes my max drive is US, I think that they are non reigon dependant. My gamecube is a local one (PAL), not imported.
