    My first post...

Ju got hold of an NGC with a viper 2.1 Cobra bios.

Just for clarification. Can you make backups of your GC original games using just your PC? It seems as an tedious task to streem data from GC via network adaptor...

I just read 15+ pages and just want to clarify

GC + PSO and BBA to PC
burn from PC to mini dvdr or regular dvdr

    to play backup disc
    mod GC (w/ bios)
    load w/ loader game
    then add backed-up game

if I create the ISO on the PC, I use the MaxDrive Pro to save the names of the ISO to the memory card and use it to play the games.

    is this right?!

again 15+ pages...it all got a bit confusing.

No only a gamecube can read a gamecube disc. A PC with a DVD drive cannot, sorry. bb23, I think you are confused, the PSO method is different/separate to the maxdrive method.

I thought I read that you use the max drive to stream the iso from your computer to your gc

but I'd rather back up to dvds
so am I right do the PSO thing, GC to PC then PC to DVD?

what i do is i read. i read until i find wha i need. i have no other friends that backup their games. only i do it. and i read to find out how. all the answers are already out there. i "backup" all "my" games. all of them work 100%. no flaws. ever. maybe when i'm no drunk i will write an up to date backup guide. who wants me to?

Episode 1 & 2 is just one game (actually 2 ported from dreamcast onto 1 gamecube disk) and only the original Episode 1 & 2 (any region) will work. Episode 1 & 2 plus and Episode III will not work period unless you have the Jap versions.

The easiest softmod to do right now is to get a gecko sd card adapter from loudias at the gcdev.com forums and an action replay disk. Broadband adapter is optional.

Alright guys, let me try to put this as plainly as possible.

I've got a modded XBOX (I had somebody install a modchip and a harddrive), and I want to play Naruto GNT 4 on my GC.

Thing is, I don't want to mod anything, and I'm interested in the idea of streaming isos to the GC.

Could somebody break down the basics of all of this, give me links to any software they can that I need (and name the other software I need that they can't send to me or give me a link for), and give me an estimated price?

I'm thankful for any and all help you can all provide, and I apologize in advance for my inadequacies on this subject.

Hmm... alright, I'm pretty sure that I'll be buying a Max Drive, but I need to know what GameCube BIOS I should use... any websites I should visit for recommendations?

    Thanks.

GCos 1.4b with remote loading server software. No other GCoS is able to stream as far as I know.

I just got my cube modded with a ripper modchip. I see that its bios is just a modified versiuon of the cobra v.04, and mine can directly boot burned media without swapping. Shouldn't this bios have the idle bug fixed? I was playing a burned copy of Resident Evil 0 and after reading a document and exiting the menu, the game would freeze (dvd stops spinning), and I would have to open/close the dvd lid to get the dvd spinning again.

    EDIT:
    Sorry, wrong thread...

Got new laser, XCM case, Qoob Pro, Ritek G05.
ALL my Iso work perfectly. There were many which wouldn't stream which I assumed to be because they were corrupt (lucky I kept them anyway). EVERYTHING works. No effort backup booting. I even did the soldering myself. First Ritek didn't work. I nearly cried. I adjusted the laser pot to 200. Then all is good. Using GCoS 1.5. Does anyone have success with action replay using GCoS 1.5? I know the latest release has support for it but I am not sure how to enable this.
    Here are my backups
    Action Replay
    Billy Hatcher
    Carmen Sandiago
    Donkey Konga 2
    From Russia With Love
    Harvest Moon
    Ikaragua
    Judge Dredd vs Judge Death
    King Kong
    Lego Star Wars
    Luigis Mansion
    Mario Party 7
    Mario Power Tennis
    Mario Super Strikers
    Need For Speed Most Wanted
    Paper Mario
Prince of Persia the Sands of Time
Prince of Persia the Two Thrones
    Resident Evil Nemesis
    Shadow the Hedgehog
    Super Monkey Ball
The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventure
    Timesplitters 2
    Timesplitters 3
    Tonka Search and Rescue
