    Hello,
I was thinking of modding my gc and need some advice before I invest my time and money. First, I wanted to know if a modded GC can do all the same things as a modded xbox, i.e play n64 roms and run an internet application. Second, which is the best mod chip? Can I use one of the cheaper ones with success? Thanks.

the best gamecube modchip is a debate between Qoob Pro & Viper but those are nearly possible to find any more so the standard Xeno chip works just fine. As for emulation and web browsing... well not quite probably not what your thinking, the N64 emu is slow, and the last internet browser i ever saw was dropped in early beta/alpha stages so the modchip for the GC is really only practical if your wanting to play back-ups it is in no way like the media center on a modded Xbox
