Hey guys I am trying to reinstall windows 98 on my older PC. I have the disk that is an upgrade, not full retail version. Now, since I cleared my Hdd, I cant install win 98 because I dont have a microsoft regestered proudut to upgrade from. Is there any way to get past this, or alternative becides installing win95?

Doesn't it ask for the disk of a previous version, as verification?

i vaguely recall that when i had an upgrade version i just used the ms-dos 6.31 floppies or something (it used to ask for 1 or more of the discs to be inserted, can't remember exactly). try some google searching then try www.bootdisk.com, they may have what you need....
