getting rid of letterbox

    hi
    everytime i convert and burn a Avi/Xvid to dvd i end up with it comming out in letterbox and i lose quite a lot of the picture.

    whats the best way of getting rid of this?

    i use Easy Avi Divx Xvid to DVD Burner, that coverts and burns in one go
    but only gives me 4:3 or 16:9 options is that where the problem lay's?

    thx for any info

    You shouldn't lose anything watching a letterboxed movie - the black bars top and bottom of a regular (4:3) TV screen is all that should be seen.

    Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
    Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
    Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
    Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
    Use Nero burning ROM to burn the files to DVD.
    Alternatively, burn with freeware, DVD Shrink + DVD Decrypter.

    you must also consider where you got the AVI/Xvid file that you are converting..... if it's from a download then chances are you got a bad version of the download and then you are converting it, which means bad quality before and the result of bad quality after conversion.
