Hi robinstud What the make and model of your drive? Just a generic listing in the Nero log - maybe an emprex/dynex? TDK is not the best - try switching to Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell. Your drive is not recognizing the write strategy on these TDK's. A firmware update may help but need the make & model of drive to see if there is a more recent one. Let's slow these TDK's down esp. since your drive doesn't fully recognize them. Try 4x. Your have a few others errors like Power calibration error & Session fixation error but let's see if there is a firmware update and if a slower burn speed will solve this until you can get some better media. These errors can sometimes be soled with this. editted to add: I'll request for this to be moved to the Nero forum.

This version of Nero contains bugs, you had a good version 6.6.0.18, uninstall your version, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html and then re install 6.6.0.18 from here http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe [quoteCannot connect TRF[/quote] Heres something about that error
@robinstud My guess is your using Shrink w/ Nero to autoburn. Version 6.6.1.4 'broke' that connection - and will give you the TRF error. So downgrade back to version 6.6.0.18 with the links Gwen supplied. The latest firmware for your drive is A187. The OEM is BTC. Here's a link: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1913 Try those sugestions and let us know how it goes!
I downloaded the version of nero that does not have bugs and cleaned nero with the cleaner then downloaded the version of what is called recent in the firmware and here is another error message. Any suggestuions? How about adding some space to the memory in windows xp. cause if i click on the desktop all i get is the screensaver and other items in the properties.
@robinstud Uninstall Nero completely again then run the clean tool. Then redownload a fresh 6.6.0.18 from the link above. (don't use the one you downloaded early) It looks like the one your downloaded may be corrupted. Try again Let's us know how that goes!
Not a problem! When you download the new one - no other downloading at the same time Run the install again & no other software running while installing. Multitasking can sometimes make the install go amiss
After wiping nero away and cleaning with nero then reinstalling after a restart here is what i get. This is after dvd does its part and then as soon as its off to the burning rom it gets to about 1% and then an error message
Heres something on this error [bold]Failed to realloc DVD video files [/bold] ..hope it helps. Install the freeware program IfoEdit - and in that program press "open" and locate the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in the folder where you have saved your files from DVD Decrypter. Then press this button Get VTS sectors Now you'll get a decision to make. Would you like IfoEdit to correct the sectors in all IFO files in that directory, then press 'Yes'. (This is the usual use). Or if you just want to check the sectors of the current loaded IFO file, then press 'No'. I always choose the 'Yes' option. After pressing 'Yes', IfoEdit will load every IFO file, and check the sector addresses. If one or more are wrong, IfoEdit will show you which addresses have been changed If no wrong sector addresses have been found, then IfoEdit does not re-save the IFO file. After that is done and you are back to the main menu - close the program and you are finished with this step. In all instances, just to make sure IfoEdit works correctly, you should always restart IfoEdit before doing this 'Get VTS Sectors' thing if you want to do it on several folders with saved DVDs.
It looks like that passage assumes you are using DVDDecrypter in conjunction with Nero....may be way off the mark but thats all I could find on that error. I just did a google search here and found a few sites you can check out from this link, I typed in this from your log. DVD-Video files reallocation failed http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=DVD-Video+files+reallocation+failed&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
@robinstud Are you using Shrink w/ Nero to autoburn when you received this last error? Which movie are you doing? Is this the original dvd you are trying to back up? If you using shrink are you choosing 'full back up' or 'reauthor' mode? If using reauthor mode are you just adding the main movie only - or are you adding other files also?
