Can anyone advise on a good laptop for playing games on, or at least what to look for in a laptop graphics card.

As I travel alot I am looking for a good laptop, maybe 17inch, 1gb, 80gb etc.
I want it for usual office work, watching, burning dvds and playing games.

I know sony look good, but are expensive, has anyone come across a decent, not too heavy (i know with my specs it will be) laptop?

    cheers

I would say look at the what the included video is for gaming. Both ATI and nVidia make laptop video. I believe the current best is the ATI x800 Mobility or the nVidia 6800 To Go, with ATI probably winning based on the specs. Damn that was hard to say since I am a nVidia fan.

A friend just got one of the Alienware models and has had nothing but praise for it's gaming performance but you may need to take out a 2nd mortgage to afford one.

I'm waiting on my Alienware Area-51m 7700 and the nVidia cards are shipping out clocked at 450core/600memory.

Ya know that is an interesting thought. My wife had her tubes tied (they actually don't tie them anymore, they burn em' shut) ... but she was keeps telling me I have to use it on my lap since it's a "lap"top.
