Hello all. I'm looking for a good software burner. I'm choosing between Nero and Roxio right now. Does any one have suggestions for those? How about other softwares?

Nero is considered to be the best one, by most of the folks here, including myself. Nero and Roxio usually can't be on the computer, at the same time. They conflict with each other, and cause problems.....

I have both Nero & Roxio on my computer.
To make them compatable I had to delete either Nero InCD4 or
Roxio Drag to Disk . I liked Drag to Disk so I kept it.

When you ran Nero and Roxio on the same PC thats all that would have a conflict was Drag to Disk and InCD4 ? I hear you should not run them on the same PC but nobody would say what they would do if you did !

I have both Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Basic Edition and Nero 6.6.0.18 on my computer. Drag to Disk never did work for me. I got rid of it. When I put Nero on, I had already heard about the conflict issue(s) and omitted InCD.

I had an old Adaptec package under Win 98 that was great. But it won't work with XP. I got the Roxio version (that took over Adaptec) because it was cheap (under $10) and works with XP. Nero came later, bundled with a new, replacement burner.

Anyway, NO problems. I use Roxio for a few things, Nero hardly at all. But, they live well together. I mainly use ImgBurn for the movies. That works extremely well, and it is FREE.

Not impressed with nero or roxio; I use the following without any
    problems.
    1/ VSO ConvertXtoDVD with CopyToDVD
    2/ ONES
    3/ CloneDVD with DVD43
    4/ Ashampoo Burning Studio 6

If your options is either Nero or Roxio, I would go with Nero.

I use Roxio Drag to Disk for Photos only.
I like to format a cd & keep sending photos to it until I finally decide to close disk-works good.

I've been a long-time fan of Roxio, but lately I've made a ton of DL coasters - on two separate machines. The burning will go along fine and when it's in the final stage of the burn, the disc will eject and I get the familiar "there was a problem" message. I tried Nero and it's even worse. I switched to AnyDVD/CloneDVD (for burning only) and have had NO problems.

Now for compilations and editing, I will use either Roxio or Nero. But I won't use either one for burning DL discs any longer. Never had a problem with Roxio burning single layer discs, Nero is hit and miss.
