Nufather, I put the sd memory in slot 2, ran the emu and got the black screen. When I just had the rom's in dol mode, some of them would run just straight from that, but only a few. Any other suggestions?

If I get this to work, do the roms have to be roms, or .dol's?

a rom in .dol format means that it's been injected into the emulator. Meaning you don't need the emulator to run it since the .dol files is the rom AND emulator. You need to find the emulators you want to use in .dol format, then put the roms, in their zipped or unzipped state in the proper folder on your SD card.

    Wulfie66,

I did find the emulators in .dol format, but when I click A or Start for them to load, all I get is a black screen.

Thank you again for your help!

On my pc, it's the G drive.

I have the following files and folders right after G: on my pc:

    NESROMS (Folder)
    SNESROMS (Folder)
    FCEUGC.DOL
    SNESGX.DOL
    GCOS1.X.DOL (I don't know why I have this).

I do have .dol files in the folders, but it doesn't matter as fceugc and snesgx will not load.

    Again, thank you!

the emulators I'm using can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E9LBKYD4
make sure your nes roms are unzipped and in the NESROMS folder and your snes roms are unzipped and in the SNESROMS folder. snes roms MUST be in .smc format.

Your .dol were much newer than mine, but unfortunately nothing is still happening except a black screen when I go to launch the emu files. Could it be because I did a system update last night? Then again, it didn't work before the system update.

Both emulators load. Thank you for solving that. However, it is not finding the roms when I go to load from sd. Any clue?

    cooper243,

    Just to recap:

You have to have your sdcard setup like this,

NESROMS <------ This is a folder with all nes roms in .nes format
SNESROMS <----- This is a folder with all snes roms in .smc format
    FCEUGC.DOL
    SNESGX.DOL
GCOS1.X.DOL (This is an OS that allows you to run gc backups and such Unless you have any gc games burnt on mini dvd than you dont need this on your sdcard).

In the NESROMS folder the roms have to be in ines format or .nes
In the SNESROMS folder the roms have to be in .smc format
If you have the files in any other format like ".dol" you will get a blank screen or it will freeze on you.

When you launch the emu and try and load a new rom from sdcard does it give an error, like "Unable to open sdcard"? or some other error?

Also check to see which slot your sdcard is in. On my GC it will load the emu fine in slot b but will not load roms, I get the unable to open sdcard. When its in slot a everything works great.

If you are getting the "Unable to open sdcard" from both slots when trying to load a new rom from sdcard it is probably a prob with the sdcard and the libogc that was used when the emu was compiled. The libogc has recently been updated and if you can get a copy of the recompiled ver. of the emu than that solves this prob. If you already have a recompiled ver than were back to square one.

I was having this problem and decided to setup shop and recompile it myself and with some help I got it going with all the emus.

fceugc, snesgx, and genplus. Which genplus was the hardest but a new set of eyes proved that the compile I did was fine the Folder naming was wrong. I had GENROMS as the folder, In the compiled code the Folder must be named GPROMS. Now all of them work loading from sdcard.

Try this and let me know,
    thx,
    nufather
