got some questions about dvd backups - how do i know if my dvd-r is a dvd6 dvd 5 ect?? -is their a free program to burn my dvd files after decrypter?? - what exactly is the point of dvd shrink??
1. Only two types of discs... DVD-9 = more than 4.7G up to approx 8.5g. DVD-5 = 4.7g or less 2. Decrypter has it's own burn engine encoded into it. 3. Self-explanatory. Think about the word [bold]shrink[/bold]... Then look at number 1 again.
ok thanks mine is a dvd-5...for dvd shrink, when i do all my editing and then i goto back up to hard drive,,right? and how do i know the GB's if its MB's?...the movie is 4468mb....is that 4.4GB?
Hi skoalmint, 4468mb is 4.46 gig. Keep this in mind. The blank dvd discs are labeled 4.7 gig, but actually only hold 4.36 gig of data or movie files. Its best not to burn to the outer edge of a blank so it is better to keep total file size to about 4300mb or 4.3 gig. Just a little info for your notes. Good luck. Jerry
well i compressed it to 4.35 GB...and i just got nero for burning... so once i shrink it what do i do?..i dont know how to use dvd decrypter.. i'll take a look at the guides, but their to carzy with all the pages of info
Open Shrink, click EDIT--then Preferences--then File I/O. If you want to burn with Nero check that box and Shrink will automatically open Nero for burning when its done. If you UNCHECK the box for Nero, Shrink will automatically open Decrypter for the burnback when its done compressing. Jerry
