So darkjello you think that my computer is the reason when the audio is not in sync? I am not having problems with the DVD to Ipod Converter. I already converted War of the Worlds. It's the Ipod-Video converter which is giving me problems. I am trying to encode a "Friends" episode that's a .mpg file and the audio is never in sync. If anyone has any idea what to do...please, let me know. Remember I am using a registered copy of Xilisoft DVD to Ipod and Xilisoft Ipod Video Converter. Thanks, Frank
Fraankie I'm not saying you don't have a good computer or anything, I've just noticed that more then one person has this problem and I'm just as interested in finding the answer as everyone else I'm sure. I havn't bought Xilisoft but when I've converted files under five minutes I've no problems with audio sync. I'm also thinking it might be related to my DVD player. Anyone have any thoughts? (Fraankie, just want to make sure you know I'm not trying to be an ass or anything)
No No DarkJello. I fully understand that you're not saying my computer is bad. I know that. I am just asking if that's a possibility. I am running off a laptop right now. However, I fully intend to transfer the program onto my PC once I get home. I can play around with the program so that the beginning works for quite a while. However, no matter what I do the audio always starts to drift off and eventually turns bad. I just wish that this Xilisoft program would work. I am still awaiting an answer from the Xilisoft support team through e-mail. Who knows though, Any Thoughts? Thanks, Frank
Fraanky, buy PQ DVD to iPod Converter on EBAY it is much cheeper that way, about $10 vs. $34, which is what I paid and then I saw it on EBAY. Oh well. Also, I sent numerous email's to Xilisoft about the problems the product has with encrypted DVD's, which is about every DVD made. They never responded, so I contacted Visa, which is the card I used to purchase the software with and they got my money back. Lethal, still wondering, why are you using 15 fps instead of 24 fsp? Don't you miss a lot of the picture?
One easy way to go from DVD to iPod without out much loss is at: http://www.sheerboredom.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=65 I tried this method here and so far every DVD I have put on my iPod is perfect quality for the iPod screen size and stays in sync with the audio. Best of all, I didnt have to pay for any software, cause I was broke after buying my iPod.
ok i followed the guide to convert an already downloaded video using Videora.... i got it converted but i dont know the last step lethal_b said to do... the importing part, i get stuck right there... any help? and thank you lethal_b, yer helping a lot of people out with all this and it looks like a lot of work, so thanks again.
Zephro when you called up Visa what did you say to them? I am probably thinking about doing the same thing because they have never responded to my e-mails either. I just want to make sure I say the same thing to Visa. Let me know, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Frank
I do lose a little quality, but it isn't all that noticeble, as the screen is still fairly small. Plus Most of my pod is filled with music, and video is not really my thing (lol) Hehe Yes, and I have replied jesusC - that is the DVD Decrypter + Videora conversion, and it's in the guide No problem, thankyou for visiting Go to FILE--->ADD FILE TO LIBRARY in iTunes. Then browse for your video, and click 'ok' when you have found it. Providing you have converted correctly, they should sync to your iPod no problem, just connect your iPod up to your PC, then right click your iPod (when it appears) in the left hand menu, and click update. Job done.
Lethal, I have answered your PM. Let me know what you think. Thanks buddy, you've been a really big help. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank, Frank
nolec5 - sorry to keep you waiting Are you atlikng about adjusting the aspect ratio? I wouldn't recommend it, as it really distorts the images a great deal. The cropping feature is probably your best bet, but it may cut a large chunk out of your picture, so it is really up to you Lethal
i did that part and actually got the video onto itunes, but it said this video cannot be put onto the ipod, soo i mst have converted wrong? i thoght i followed the easy Videora steps correctly... any suggestions?
Fraankie, tell them that the software does not work with encrypted DVD with freezing and sync. error and know where on thier site does it say that it can't convert encrypted DVDs.
That's what you told Visa? And what did Visa say to you? I mean, you just called up Visa and said that your program does not work and they gave you your money back? Sounds too easy. Can you let me know what you said to Visa. thanks, Frank
Hey, I just got an ipod video and i bought quicktime pro 7 and when I try open one of my video files from limewire through quicktime pro 7, it works. Then when I try to export the video to my ipod, the export stops after 9% and says UNKNOWN ERROR - NUMBER 8961. I have no idea why it is doing this and I really need HELP!!!(-: (i think i need you, LETHAL B!) -<3<3 -Sarah
Hello Sarah, welcome to the forums. Have you converted the videos using QTpro7, or have you just opened them in QTpro7? Have a look at the guide for converting tips -Lethal
Hey Lethal B, I dont exactly know what you mean by converting them to QTPRO7. How do I convert them? Also, when I try to play my video file through quicktime, no visual comes up and the audio is very skippy. How do I know if my QT is QTPRO7? Does it say QTPRO7 on the top of the window? Because mine just says Quicktime. Currently I am downloading a new video to try to put on my ipod and if the same error occurs do you think you know what it is? THANKS SOOO MUCH <3<3 -SARAH
If you bought it, then it's quicktime pro. What format are the videos you are attempting to convert? i.e. .wmv, .asf, .mpeg, .avi ?
Alright, I've been trying out the DVD Decrypter and iPod Videora method, seems to work well except my backup of Forrest Gump copies to the computer with director commentary on. Any way for me to change that on the DVD Decrypter? Thanks for all the help, again.
darkjello, is it on the directors' commentary by default (i.e when you watch it on a normal dvd player) or is it a special feature. If it is a special feature, then just have a double check through the guide and make sure you have missed nothing out
