it downsizes it to a size viewable to the iPod, but the size of the file remains the same.

Okay, I'll try and help but it would be good if you clarify a few things for me. So you have the file on your desktop before converting? After converting it the file is going to be a different file altogether. I don't have quicktime pro but I would suggest checking where it is outputting the file to. Unless you have it set to be on the Desktop it will go to a folder the name of I don't know. Good luck

I noticed Lethal's guide says it will be put on the desktop but it might be different depending on the operating system your using, are you using an apple or windows computer?

My PQ DVD seems to be taking a very long time to record a DVD? Why is this? When I ran it before on my girlfriend's laptop it worked beautifully. Now, it just takes a very long time to Record the movie...I'm talking 5-7 hours when before it generally took a little less the actual time of the movie. Open to any suggestions...Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hey,
I have quicktime pro and first the video file I want to convert to my iPod is on limewire. Then, I use quicktime pro to convert it to my ipod. However, after it is converting it is supposed to go to my desktop and it never does after the converting is complete. PLEEASE get back to me. I have windows.

    OK, Let's see...

OK, let's start with the basics. Is your g/f's laptop faster than your PC? do you have many other programs running at the same time? Is it just one DVD or a variety?

I will answer all other questions & PM's tommorow. Sorry guys. A dude's gotta get [bold]some[/bold] sleep ;-)

My computer has a faster processor. I don't have many programs up. Probably just as many as her. You think installing DivX Codec would speed it up? She has that installed on her computer.

    Thanks,
    Frank

Honestly if done correctly they all do the job (some better then others) but it all boils down to fuctionality once uploaded to your Ipod. I have used tried Xilisoft, PQ DVD, Nero and Quicktime. NONE OF THEM FUNCTION BETTER THEN QUICKTIME PRO!!!!! Yeah they will ALL upload but try to rewind or fast-foward that is where the trouble begins and some of them shorten your battery life even faster.

So you are saying that not using quicktime pro shortens your battery life? that's garbage....

IMHO, pqdvd is the best DVD/Video to iPod application on the planet...

    Quicktime is sloooow...

Can someone please tell me why my PQ DVD is taking so long to record movies? I'm talking 6-8 hours to record a 90-120 minute movie. What's the deal? On my girlfriend's laptop it only took me 60-90 minutes to record a 90-120 minute movie. So what the heck? Why is my PQ DVD running so slow? What can I do to improve this speed? I'm running on a P4 2 Ghz Processor. Anyone have any takes on this?

    Thanks,
    Frank
