Thank you to all. I am learning a lot.

I am ready to buy Taiyo Yudens and I found this website that was mentioned in another thread:

    http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv

Is that a good place to buy Taiyo Yudens? Which should I buy? I guess I shouldn't pay more for 16x since I was told I should be burning all disks at 4x.

I was thinking of the 8x Silver for $27.

    Thanks for writing.

I was thinking of the 8x Silver for $27. What do you think?

Should I bother with the 16x since I was advised to burn at 4x anyway.

You can burn genuine TYs @X8. I burn all my X8 at X8. If you can get TY 8X +R get them. And booktype them DVD-ROM if drive supports.

    what does booktype mean?

I used Cucusoft to burn a avi to a dvd, but there was a delay in the sound and every few minutes the sound disappeared altogether for 10 seconds. I burned it onto my Samsung media, but i don't think it's the media's fault this time, right?
