hey i have a question about ppfs what are they?? Why does everyone say you have to patch your modded maps or they wont work? I have never done this and my maps work everytime. Oh yea is there such thing as a super ppf or is this sppf just a sized ppf??
can someone please explain how to use the encryption for dothalo. I downloaded it already and I also downloaded the .NET FRAMEWORK If there's a site that gives a good tut then please tell me
Can u use a soft mod with Halo2.. I just going into modding maps and i want to mod maps on my xbox for when i multiplay..
okay i have seen people all over w/ modded xboxes and doin some cool stuff with halo 2. i dont know any thing about modding or anything like that so if some one could please help me mod my xbox thank you brandon
sotmodding is easy just go to afterdawn.com's home page and type "how to softmod" in the search bar. click the link that says "how to softmod with pics". This is an excellent tutorial. I used it to softmod my own xbox. It's really easy. before you do this though, you might wanna know that you must buy 2 things: 1)action replay 2)one of these three games: splinter cell (the original one) mechassault James bond 007 agent under fire make sure that when you buy one of these games they are NOT the limited addition or platinum hit versions. These don't work. you need the regular version. I'm not sure if they sell the regular anymore (but check anyway) or you could try to buy it off of ebay. If you buy if off ebay, make sure you ask them if it is the platinum hit version. If it is, don't buy it.
ok "ceare" About those PPF's. All you need to know is a PPF is a patch. Most people get them confused with modded .map files and try and FTP them to their HDD and then start to complain that their mods arent working. Well when you take a non modded .map file off your xbox you most likely open it in a program like dothalo or H2edit. There your can mess with everything from weapon and vehicle dependencies to skins, etc. Ok now people that use these programs proficciently sometimes make all these cool mods to their maps and put them on sites. However map files are somwhat big and I believe most site dont allow direct postings of modded .map files so people put them mod changes in a file called a ".PPF" these are essentially patch files that write changes to .map files when applied properly .map files. Programs like "PPFoMatic" "Dothalo" etc. offer an option to apply .ppfs to.map files (IE modding a .map file) So you probably have a bunch of .ppf files lying around. well all you would need to do is get a program that offers the PPF patcher feature and start applying all those PPFs to all of the .map files you have. BUT NOTE make sure to apply the right PPFs to the right maps otherwsie you are likley to run into trouble. PS: if you need more help feel free to drop me a post http://www.gamer-shack.com
