    monitors in general are far from cheap, and you don't want to buy the bottom of the line.

    do a lot of researc before picking a monitor. if i was shoppin for one, i would pm Creaky and/or Nephilim and ask for their opinions, as i seem to recall they've been through a number of monitors, and with their experiences are quite happy with their current setups.

    If you can afford it, a Sceptre X20 from Newegg or a Viewsonic 17".

    @bilybob - did a quick look around, and as you're after 15" LCD, found this one - Viewsonic VE510s - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/105863/rb/20058372120
    some more info here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001J4H8G/202-0441003-4348611

    Though you could do some more googling to see what you think. I've got a Samsung 15" LCD (model 152V i think) and it's a couple or more years old and still got a real crisp display. Does a max resolution of 1024x768 but i think that's probably the most you will get out of all or most 15" LCDs

    If you have a CEX store near you they tend to have cheap LCD monitors in stock, and around £85 too. i'd guess they have the proverbial year's warranty on them too.

    nice find, must admit i didn't look at prices of 17" LCD's (mainly to stop myself stumbling on a bargain and buying one) :)

    LOL I know how easy it is. I'm too much of an image quality fan to want an LCD right now barring the real top end models like a VX922! And they're too expensive, so I'll stick to my CRTs for now. Games look ridiculously good at high resolutions on a small monitor. When my X1900XT rig is ready then they'll be something else!

    i understand that theres a fan at the back of the power supply, and one on the motherboard?

    I really could do with a silent fan, if they exist, cause big torrents and things, i can leave it on overnight.

    Does that mean i need a different psu or can i buy the fans seperately?

    Look for a PSU with adjustable speeds. Liek Hi/Lo or Hi/Med/Lo. You can usually run them silently and cooly at medium setting.
