I have an 80 GB IDE Hard disk, which is my Primary hard disk. I just bought a new 160 GB Western Digital hard disk and it has an ATA Serial not as the 80 GB and I want the WD 160 GB to be the slave of 80 GB hard disk. Can I connect the 160 GB hard disk as an slave for the 80 GB ?

Well if the New HDD is a ATA Serial, its different connection to IDE....

SATA dispenses with the whole Master/Slave mess since each device has it's own unshared channel.

I've a 160GB Maxtor SATA to supplement my 2X WD80GBSE RAID 0 and it hums right along :)
