Question, would it be illegal for me to ask for an ISO file of the windows Xp home edition disk so i could run a repair my PC since i aquired the OS legally?
yeah, it would be illegal, but there's more to consider. first you would have to extract your license key from your current OS, which is not possible without being able to boot (hope you have it lying around somewhere). then, there's the fact that the version of XP on your compie isn't the same as the version that comes from MS. it includes extra software and special drivers for all the Vaio stuff, which means you wouldn't be able to do a repait--you'd have to do a complete wipe/reinstallation, so you'd lose all your data. ddp should be able to help you recover your data and back it up, then you can do a clean wipe.
disconnect your rom drives on secondary port on other computer & put sick hd in it's place still jumpered as master. http://www.ontrack.com/freesoftware/ http://www.z-a-recovery.com/download.htm http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html http://www.easeus.com/ http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm http://www.partition-recovery.com/
