Hi, my little brother just hit the side of my laptop with his hand and now it will mention something about not finding media. i took out my hard drive and put it into a IDE to USB adapter and tried to get to my data on my pc but my hard drive doesn't seem to be working. i hear a slight really low noise sound and when i lightly tap the top of the hard drive. it stops. any advice please? i really do not want to lose my information.
To be honest, it sounds like it's dead. You can have the drive replaced, assuming it's under warranty or buy another if not, but I doubt your data will be recoverable either way. You can look into data recovery services if you like but they're incredibly expensive.
