Hard drive problem

I hope someone can help. I got a xbox 360 and tried to format the hard drive from the xbox using a sata docking station. The docking station did format the xbox hard drive but now my xbox wont detect the hard drive. I tried using macdrive 8 dont no if i should have used this software or not but made no difference. I no this was a stupid thing to do, as i was trying to load softmod files unto the hard drive as my memory pens didnt work.
