    - any ideas whether the scan machines at airports will wipe out the data on a hdd?

moving abroad, and need to know whether its worth backing the whole thing up on to discs, or can i just take a few 120Gb drives with me?

i believe they are ok with camera film nowadays, but not sure about the magnetic field they create...

    cheers

laptops go thru do you hear complaints??? but still do backups as the bumping around could cause more damage than scanners
