Harddrive problem!!

    Hey,

    Ive just built a new computer and basically it boots up. Bios beeps once which is healthy!
    Get Past the Bios screen and then i get a Disk Boot Failure Insert System disk.

    Should i insert my windows Xp disk?
    Will reinstalling windows on the drive remove all my data?
    Need help urgently Cheers!

    Umm I take it you already installed windows before? If so you can reinstall windows without erasing any of your precious data (well most of your programs will have to be reinstalled but nothing other than that will be lost) Just choose the "leave filesystem intact option"

    But first you should try repairing the os with your system disc.
