Go back to device manager/coms & ports then right click on com port 2 select properties,

    1 Click on Port settings,

2 Bits per second press the pull down box and set that to maximum (forget the other numbers its an old pic) then OK, and try again.

If you doing as posted above it should work, all I can suggest is try it on another PC preferably one with a 9 pin serial socket so you dont have to use the USB adaptor or try pluging your USB adaptor into another port go back into device manager to see where its looking then setting your firmware loader to the same port and try again.

I have pluf the serial cable SV3 to PC, but what next how do i assign the com port or is there something else i need to do

Turn you PC off, Plug your Null modem cable into the serial socket at the back of your PC, boot your PC then go back into Device manager/+ on ports (com & LTP) it will say Serial port (COM?) which ever number port that is match that with the com number on the loader and try again.

plug it in the 9 pin port on the motherboard.
    plug it in the box.
leave the default settings on the software and go for the upload.
Using USB is often more trouble than it's worth being that the com assignments can take some figuring out.

If it is not working ten there could be the chance that the com ports are somehow disabled in the BIOS

Plug the cable in to your box and try to download the firmware. On the loader try on com1 if that doesn't work then try 2,3 and 4.

    Hi Guys

I am having the same problem....UPDATE FAILED...I connect to 2 pc's direct to serial ports & nothing. I have 2 the box supers & the other(older) one updated fine & works a treat?

Is anyone aware of possible hardware failures?

Have you tired doing a box to box transfer,

menu-user set up -?? transfer, connect both boxes with a null modem cable turn your faulty box away from the remote and transfer form your working using the remote.

I cant remember the menu exactly as I havn't used one for a bit but this will allow you to transfer the firmware from one to another.

I can't seem to get a definitive answer to the following question, can someone please answer me this (preferably someone that has it on and working...not someone who has heard it works):

Does the new firmware 8.02e dated 30/11/08 *actually* fix the latest non-autorolling issue on The Box Super? Or are you still manually putting in codes daily? :/
