Post your error log in this thread if you saved it. If not, simulate another burn and post that error log for me to look at.

    Ok, few things..

Un-related, but needs to be fixed - turn DMA on with this guide...
    http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

Not a lot of RAM there, so make sure you don't multi-task during the burning process and maybe consider installing another 512mb stick of RAM.

Your media is OK. You may wish to purchase some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media though, if nothing else works.

6x is a bit slow for 16x media, try 8x minimum.

It's most likely memory usage that is killing it.

will the firmware i have affect my burning process... and another thing. when you say no multitasking, does that include like limewire and messanger?

  18. Phlax

    Phlax Guest

Well, how old is our drive? If over a year, with no updates, it may have trouble burning to newer blank media as your burner doesn't know how to write to it. And yes, it does mean that.. However, if you have a v fast processor or a lot of RAM, Limewire running in the background or w/e should be Ok.
