    Hey all,

My windows xp computer is running on a FAT32 filesytem, and i want to changed it to an NTFS one, befcause today when trying to extract something i downloaded i discovered how the FAT32 filesytem cannot deal with files bigger than 4gb.

I went to command prompt (start-all programs-accessories-command prompt)

    I typed in " convert c: /fs:ntfs "

Then i get a message saying, "The type of filesytem is FAT32, Enter current volume label for drive c:"

    What is a volume label?
Because i dont have a clue what one is, and where would i be able to find out what mine is?

Thanks alot in advance for any help.

    -Josh

Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

Select Disk Management and you will see what the volume lables are on your disk.
