system recovery is pretty advanced. I wouldn't recomend using it for beginners trying to fix the os. What disc do you actually have - Home or Pro? And i presume you have the licence key stuck on your pc somewhere. If so then you can always do a full reinstall after backing up your files. if you don't have any disc then download one and use your licence key with it.
