A couple of times recently I have tried to play back an XVID captured from a high definition USA TV channel. I hear the sound on my DVD player but no picture. I am guessing it is because the resolution is too high on the source. Am I right to guess this? I am in the UK using a standard PAL TV. Is there anything easy or quick I can do to get the picture to show? The TV show plays fine on my PC.
HR HDTV re-encodes are generally 960x??? or so. If you are using a standalone MPEG4/AVI player then that would be your problem. Most of such players support 720x576 max. Got nothing to do with the TV.
