ok i was thinking of getting an hdtv tuner, but ii was wondering...

does it read the signle and sent it to a tv as readable? or do i need an hd-ready tv? because i wanna have high quality in my gaming but i dont wanna drop 2 grand. $250 is a much more sane price.

So, your question is will an HDTV tuner work with an analog tv? Yes it will. You won't be able to use the high def part but the picture will be better sice the standard def images are being produced for an HD source. The transfer will be an all digital proccess as well which means there will be no snow or ghosting in your image! To use it with an analog tv simply use the Composite or S-Video (better) connections.

With that said... a wide screen HD-Built-in tv would be the best investment. To use the current crop of gaming systems in HD mode remmember to make sure your futur set has HD-Component Video inputs, not just Component Video inputs.
