I was thinking of buying a Video Card because of all these new games coming out for the PC. So what I wanted to know was which Video Card to buy. My Budget is 200$ CAD, since I live in Canada. The ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT is priced at 199.99$. So that oughta give you an idea of what the price might be here in Canada for video cards. And for the games, Iv'e been thinking of a graphics card that could be able to play Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, Gears of War for PC. Etc... Not the ones that barely play these though, the one the plays it well and with ease. Thank you very much for your time.

I bought a 7600 GT for 80 USD and that performs better than a HD 2600 XT. Do you live near the border? If you have friends in the US you could probably buy stuff online for much less than what you pay at Future Shop.

BTW an 7600 GT wont play those games with ease either unless I turn a LOT of stuff down. To play those games you should probably go with at least a 8800 GTS, which will set you back around 280 USD(Thats if you have friends in the US who you can get this stuff shipped to).

3GHz Pentium 4 630 CPU; 1.5GB PC2-4300 RAM; Proprietary Dell i915G motherboard; 160GB Maxtor SATA hard disk; LG GWA-4164B dual-layer DVD writer; Intel 915G graphics; 19in Dell 1907FP LCD. Windows XP Home. 1yr onsite warranty.

By the way, I thought of buying the e-GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked. Will it be able to run on my PC and be able to run those games I mentioned on the top? And is it also worth 269.99$ CAD? Thanks.

If your system is AGP (which it probably is, you have a P4) then you cant get a 8 series card, only 7 and under.

Ok then can you please recommend a card for my specs that'll be able to play those games? Some card that would have graphics similar to the Xbox 360. Thanks

I actually just checked, It's PCI Express. So can I actually buy the
e-GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked? And will it be able to run the games that I mentioned at top?

Thats a great price for the 8800 GTS if you can use it. Like ddp said check what kind of PCI-E you have.

When you say top, what do you mean?
If you mean 1920x1200 resolution, maximum detail, Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering on, then probably not in the case of games like UT3. However, if you mean things like 1280x1024 mostly maximum detail settings, then yes, that'll do.

When I'm saying top, it meant I was referring to the games. My screen resolution is 1280x1024 (17"). So Im not worried about that, what only want to know is...
1.Which Card would play these games the best?
-ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB
    -EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS Superclocked 320MB
-BFG Nvidia GeForce 7950 OC 512MB

2.Could someone please mention a good card under 200$ CAD that could play those games well at 1280x1024 resolution?

    Thanks once again.

Like I said the 2600 is NOTHING, it WONT run those games. The 8800 GTS would be your best bet. You could wait for the new 9 series video cards to come out, then the prices for the other cards could go down.

Which'll probably mean the end of the year. If it's not a problem waiting, then do so, but wait for every new tech and you'll be waiting forever. The 8800GTS is by far the best of those 3, and the 2600XT is by far the worst.
